statement | manifesto
I investigate the creation of surfaces that operate as archaeologies of perception. I establish pictorial dialogues through masses of paint, incisions in the form of words, oxidations, and varied textures that explore the passage of time and life, its ephemeral and simultaneously perennial flow, evoking the ineffable hidden in material existence. Like ancient walls, forged by chronological action, crystallizing strata of experiences, scars, and emotions of all shades. They are visions of the subconscious world, which propose reflections through symbols and pictorial contrasts, prompting the viewer to glimpse the greatness contained in the fleeting nature of life.
The research materializes in the use of unconventional elements: woods, papers, small objects, and the subversion of embroidery that pierces the two-dimensionality of the canvas, elements that become stratagems of resistance of organic life within the plastic space. These are mirror-like landscapes that invite the observer to move between the macrocosm of existence and the microcosm of their own sensibility, in a search for order and meaning amidst the entropy of the world. The painting then becomes a suspended and infinite space, where the observer is free to overflow logical boundaries, articulating new routes within and outside themselves.
